Market Town Welcome Workshops
15 February 2008
Workshops will be held in early March in the six towns participating in the Market Town Welcome project.
These workshops are an opportunity for anyone in the town with an interest in tourism and local history, heritage and amenity organisations to get involved in shaping the future priorities for the town.
The workshops will be of particular interest to those running businesses which cater for visitors. Anyone thinking of setting up a tourism business or investing in potential developments will also find the workshop useful.
The workshop will develop a vision of what each town will be able to offer visitors in the future. Building on the results of recent surveys, the interactive workshop will discuss how to create a strong identity for the towns and what it will be able to offer future visitors. Any ideas or proposals for future projects are welcome. Come along and have your say!
If you cannot attend the workshop but would like to comment please post your ideas on this website or send them direct to kristel@miller-research.co.uk

Alnwick leading in business survey returns
11 February 2008
With just 10 days until the business survey closes, Alnwick is leading the way with the number of businesses in the town that have filled in the survey.
A total of 85 businesses from across the six towns participating in the project have sent in their comments on how they would like to see their town develop as a tourism destination.
Local businesses are in the best position to understand what visitors to their town want. We would love to hear from more businesses before the survey closes on Wednesday 20th February. Any business who has dealing with visitors is invited to fill in the survey -this includes not only accommodation and attractions, but also many shops, restaurants, pubs, cafes, etc.
All businesses who fill in the survey will be put into a prize draw, where prizes include a £50 meal voucher for two at a local restaurant, a local food hamper or tickets to the Alnwick garden.
